How does it work

AXUM CARD

With the D&R AXITE's modular concept, our MambaNet™ protocol controls the primary portion of the I/O rack. Each I/O card is shared in the network and can be controlled remotely.

The I/O cards, together with the rack, function as a large Matrix in the network. With every inserted DSP card, you gain access to 32 stereo channels with full control over the EQ and dynamics of the audio.

AXITE accepts a maximum of 4 DSP cards.

Key features:

  • Compact design: The large number of inputs and outputs per card couldn't be accommodated with dedicated connectors on the front of the card.

  • Standardization: By using standard STP cables in every input and output module, a compact and neat cabling system is achieved. This standardization allows for easy changes in wiring without the need for soldering.

  • Cost-effective cabling: Low-cost Cat-5 cables are readily available from us or your nearest computer store, starting at lengths of 30cm up to 20 meters. This ensures a cost-effective and efficient cabling solution for your setup.

I/O-rack

Axum 19 inch frame
AXUM rack double

The AXITE digital audio system features a 19” rack (for 21 slots), requiring at least one power supply (3 slots) and one engine card (2 slots). This leaves space for a maximum of 16 input and output cards.

As the AXITE is a modular system, the number of input and output cards needed is entirely up to you.

For the connections, we use standard RJ45. Connection between de RJ45s in the rack and your patch units is by standard STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cable.

AES67 compatibility:

The AES67/USB card of the AXUM system can communicate with all equipment that is AES67 compliant. However, it's important to note that when dealing with Dante, there are two types of equipment:

  1. Native Dante equipment: Older equipment that ONLY supports native Dante and is NOT AES67 compliant.

  2. Dante + AES67 support equipment: Equipment that supports both Dante and AES67.

AES67 card with Dante support:

  • If your equipment supports only native Dante, an AES67 card with Dante support won’t work.

  • However, if your equipment is Dante WITH AES67 support, then an AES67 card with Dante support will work seamlessly.
