We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your D&R device, we’re here to help!

To make the repair process as smooth and fast as possible, please follow the steps below.

1. Packing

Make sure your device is clean and packed securely. If you still have the original packaging, please use it.

Otherwise, use a sturdy box and fill the empty spaces with newspaper or foam to prevent damage during shipping.

2. Inform D&R

Always inform our support in front of the transport with the next important information:

Your return address
Contact name
Phone number
Email address
Serial number of the device
Short explanation of the issue(s)

This can be done by filling in the support form on our website.

3. Shipping

We recommend that you always send your device with Track & Trace.

This way, both you and D&R can follow the package and ensure it arrives safely.

Shipping from within Europe:

If you're located in Europe, you can arrange the shipment yourself.

However, if you prefer, D&R can also handle the shipping for you.

Having us handle the process helps avoid delays and extra costs.

Shipping from outside Europe:

If you're outside Europe, we strongly advise that D&R arranges the shipping.

International shipments require specific export documents and must follow different customs regulations.

We’ll arrange the FedEx pick-up and send you a shipping label and invoice by email.

Just print them and attach them clearly on the box.

The FedEx driver will pick up the package at the time and date you choose.

They’ll also take care of all shipping documents.

These costs vary depending on your location and will be added to your final invoice before your repaired device is returned.

4. Arrival

Once your device arrives at our facility, you will receive a confirmation email with a receipt for your records.

This email will include all important details about the shipment, the device, and its condition upon arrival.

Our technicians will then begin the inspection and service process as soon as possible, so we can return your device to you without unnecessary delay.

An "always on" source is available in the VRC software for the full-shot/ticker scene when no DJs are speaking. This has already been taken into account.

The Gain setting is stored in the Camcon itself and will return to the last setting when power is restored.
It's also possible to save the Camcon settings to a file and load them again later.

If you want to use multiple "fixed" setups, you can do so.

Incidentally, the Gain setting can be selected directly in the Camcon web interface and doesn't need to be cycled through sequentially.

How does the VRC software determine when to switch scenes based on microphone activity, and what mechanisms does it use, such as mic-on signals, scene prioritization, and switch-on delays, to prevent unwanted switching or “flapping”?

The VRC software requires a mic-on signal (channel on + fader start) before the microphones are metered. If there are no channels with mic-on, the scene will not switch.

Currently, the VRC software expects the mic-on signal to be presented on the Camcon's GPI.

In addition, it's possible to link a scene to an "Always on" mic-on signal.

This will then be the scene with the studio overview camera. If all microphones are then muted/off, this scene will still be selected.

To prevent chatter, scenes can be prioritized.

So, if two people are talking over each other, the best priority will be given priority.

A switch-on delay can also be set, so that the scene doesn't switch immediately when a hiccup, cough, or snort is detected.

And once switched, the scene is held for a minimum time before switching again. This also prevents "flapping."

Can I place a microphone processor between my mic and the Camcon?

OBS and VRC are not connecting. What should I check?

My Camcon device is not recognized over USB. What can I do?

Does the Camcon device send full audio to the computer, and how does the VRC software use its signals to control OBS-Studio?

No.

The Camcon device does not send full audio or behave like a soundcard. Instead, it sends audio-level information and GPI/GPO signals over USB.

The VRC software uses the audio-level data and the GPI “Mic-On” signal to determine whether a microphone channel is active.

When a fader or channel is turned off, the GPI signal indicates that the mic should not be used.

This ensures that OBS-Studio won’t switch cameras to someone who is not on-air.

For best results, you can also add a low-priority, always-on studio camera that displays when no one is speaking.

How does the CamCon know when a microphone is active, and is it possible to use the system without a mixing console?

The Camcon determines whether a microphone is active by receiving a signal that indicates both the fader and channel are turned on.

This information normally comes directly from a mixing console, which also provides an essential function: combining all microphone sources into a single output signal.

Although it’s technically possible to “fool” the system by keeping all microphones permanently active, this does not eliminate the need for an audio mixer to combine the signals.

For demo or testing purposes only, where you only want to see the camera switching and do not need audio, you can short the CamCon’s GPI input (connecting tip to ring) to simulate a constant mic-active state.
